WHAT IS VUELTA IBIZA KAYAK REALLY?

To understand what VIK is, it is important to first understand what it is NOT: Vuelta Ibiza Kayak® is not a trip to tick off a list, it is not a conventional guided excursion, nor is it a comfortable holiday with a minute-by-minute organised schedule.

It is a journey lasting several days, a participatory kayaking expedition, in which the sea sets the pace and the group becomes part of the journey.

You arrive in a rush, with routines and noise in your head. You shovel, share, collaborate… and little by little you return to a more natural rhythm, far from the noise of everyday life.

If you are one of those people who does not like to have everything handed to you on a plate, then VIK is for you.

Here you come to be part of something.
To shovel without rushing.
To help when needed.
To live alongside people who, like you, feel the need to stop and reconnect with something more essential.

Ibiza from the sea is another island: hidden coves, silence, unspoilt nature and a feeling of disconnection that is difficult to find on land.

What happens during the crossing?

Every week is different, but there are things that always happen:

🤝 At the beginning of the week, we gave a presentation, an initial briefing and a basic introduction to sea kayaking.
🌿 We paddle every day at a leisurely pace adapted to the group.
🧭 We access secluded coves, many of which are only accessible from the sea.
😊 We share effort, calm, laughter, and silence.
🧠 We learn about kayaking, the sea, meteorology, and the natural environment almost without realizing it.
✨ We discovered a wild Ibiza that is invisible from the coast.
💪 We receive constant support and guidance.
🤿 We stop to swim, rest, or simply float while looking at the sky.
🐚 We listened to explanations about history, wildlife, and landscape.

It’s not about getting there fast, it’s about being there.

A team journey

Vuelta Ibiza Kayak® is a collective and participatory experience. The group is an essential part of the journey.

At different times, the group collaborates on simple tasks such as moving and preparing the kayaks, loading luggage and food onto the support boat, setting the table for breakfast or dinner, and even occasionally picking up trash that the sea brings to the coves to help improve the environment.

👉 This does not detract from comfort: it creates unity. Participating generates a sense of community and a real connection with the environment and the people around you.

And what is a typical day at VIK like?

We know that a week-long kayaking trip can raise many questions. That’s why we explain how a typical day on an expedition usually unfolds:

Morning 🌅

Before imagining yourself paddling all day like an athlete, think about something else: breakfast outdoors, facing the sea, with the people accompanying you on your trip. Conversations flow, laughter fills the air, and the day begins without haste.

Afterwards, the whole group collects the equipment. There is always time for a refreshing swim, to observe what the underwater world has to offer, or simply to sit and watch the sea or enjoy the first rays of morning sunshine.

Before heading out onto the water, the guides explain the sea conditions and organize the group into single and double kayaks. Changing partners in the kayak is part of the trip and creates cohesion.

We started paddling 🚣 💪

The journey begins, always accompanied by the guides.

A kayak guide leads the way, sets the pace, and discovers caves, passages between rocks, and unexpected corners.
Another guide brings up the rear with the support boat, available for any needs that may arise.

Everything is designed to make you feel safe and in the hands of professionals.

Time to eat 🍉🥗

At midday, we disembark at a cove to have lunch with the food that each person brings with them or buys during stops near supermarkets.

These are peaceful moments to relax, share stories, and enjoy the surroundings. There is always time for another swim or even a quick nap in the shade.

Afternoon and end of stage 😊🌤

In the afternoon, we resumed paddling calmly, always making sure to stay hydrated and protected from the sun.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy conversations, laughter, and shared silence as we approach the end of the stage.

Upon arrival, depending on the day, there may be time to enjoy the beach a little longer or even a well-deserved, unexpected cold beer at a beach bar.

The sea is never exactly the same, and Ibiza gives you what you need at any given moment.

When the sun goes down, everyone gets together again to set the table for dinner. This is usually a time to reminisce about the day’s events, strengthen bonds, or listen to stories about the constellations we see above our heads.

Little by little, sleep begins to take hold, and some people quietly retire to rest. Tomorrow will be another day…

What if the sea or weather are not favorable? 🌬️⚠️

Safety is always our priority. Without safety, there is no enjoyment.

If conditions do not allow departure, the kayaks remain on land
and the stage cannot be recovered either on foot or by transport.

That day often turns into an unexpected gift: rest, recharge your batteries, or discover the surroundings at a different pace. There are usually easy treks around our stops that offer us a different view of the island.

As sea guides with a total of more than 100 trips around the island, we know the area well and can suggest simple options nearby, and even join you. But keep in mind that the decisions you make that day will always be your own responsibility.

To summarize

Vuelta Ibiza Kayak isn’t about doing everything perfectly.
It’s about sharing the journey.
It’s about disconnecting from the noise and reconnecting with yourself through the sea.

Now I understand! 🤩
I still have some doubts...🤔
